emirates7 - The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) recently hosted a judicial delegation from Xiamen City, Fujian Province, China, to explore opportunities for deeper collaboration in legal and judicial affairs.
During the visit, the Chinese delegation was introduced to Abu Dhabi’s advanced legal and judicial frameworks, along with the Department’s strategic focus on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, innovation, and capacity development. Discussions centred on the exchange of knowledge, best practices, and potential areas of cooperation.
The guests were briefed on ADJD’s Strategic Plan for 2024–2026, key judicial performance metrics, and a range of ongoing initiatives aimed at improving access to justice. These efforts align with the Department’s mission of delivering a “fair and prompt judiciary for a safe and stable society.”
The visit also included a presentation on ADJD’s specialised training programmes for judges and prosecutors, designed to strengthen professional capabilities and enhance judicial efficiency.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured the Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy, where they observed the use of state-of-the-art technologies in legal education and professional training.
The group also visited the Abu Dhabi Commercial Court to gain insights into litigation procedures, case management practices, and the court’s integration of modern technology to streamline communication between parties and accelerate case handling. They showed particular interest in the court’s remote litigation systems, which enable virtual case monitoring and online service requests.
At the end of the visit, the delegation praised the ADJD for its innovative judicial services, including specialised courts, robust digital infrastructure, and leadership in virtual court proceedings.
