emirates7 - Dubai inaugurated 16 new mosques across the emirate in the first quarter of 2025, with a total investment of Dh140 million. These mosques collectively accommodate up to 15,000 worshippers.
This initiative aligns with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department’s (IACAD) strategic goals to support development and charitable projects while ensuring a welcoming and suitable environment for worship.
As part of its future plans, 21 land plots have been allocated for mosque construction in 15 different areas of Dubai. This includes 11 mosques and 10 smaller prayer-time mosques, coordinated with relevant authorities to meet the needs of growing residential communities and ongoing urban expansion.
Mohammed Jassim Al Mansouri, Director of Customer Service, highlighted that these efforts reflect the department’s vision to enhance the religious infrastructure and strengthen cooperation with donors and mosque benefactors.
He noted that IACAD is committed to simplifying both administrative and technical procedures related to mosque construction, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Al Mansouri expressed gratitude to donors for their generous support and encouraged the public to continue contributing to these valuable projects. He emphasized that such efforts embody the spirit of giving and solidarity ingrained in Emirati society and are vital to expanding the mosque network in line with Dubai’s rapid development.
