DEWA contributes AED20 million to Fathers’ Endowment campaign

emirates7 - Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has pledged AED 20 million to the Fathers' Endowment campaign, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.

The campaign honors fathers in the UAE by creating a sustainable endowment fund to provide healthcare and treatment for those in need. Initiated by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), the campaign allows individuals to make donations in honor of their fathers. It promotes the values of honoring parents, compassion, and solidarity, while reinforcing the UAE's leadership in charitable and humanitarian efforts. The initiative also seeks to strengthen the concept of charitable endowments.

The campaign aims to inspire a community-wide movement that supports the noble goal of charitable endowments.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, emphasized the authority's steadfast commitment to supporting His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's annual Ramadan humanitarian initiatives, which provide crucial assistance to underserved communities globally.

Al Tayer stated, "DEWA's participation in this campaign reflects our strong dedication to social responsibility and supporting those in need, in alignment with our Islamic values. We are proud to contribute to the UAE's ongoing culture of generosity."

The campaign continues to welcome donations from both institutions and individuals through six main channels, including its website (Fathersfund.ae), a dedicated call center (800 4999), bank transfers to Emirates Islamic Bank (IBAN: AE020340003518492868201), SMS donations, and platforms such as the DubaiNow app and Jood (Jood.ae). Donations can be made via SMS by sending the word "Father" to various numbers to donate different amounts.
