emirates7 - Under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) has introduced a flexible working hours and remote work policy for government employees during the Holy Month of Ramadan 1446 Hijri (2025).
This initiative aligns with the leadership’s designation of 2025 as the Year of Community and underscores the Dubai Government’s commitment to fostering a supportive work environment while upholding community values.
The policy allows government employees in Dubai to adjust their working hours by up to three hours daily, provided they complete at least 5.5 hours from Monday to Thursday and a minimum of three hours on Fridays. Additionally, eligible employees may work remotely for up to two days per week, depending on job requirements, operational needs, and the nature of their responsibilities.
To ensure smooth workflow and maintain productivity, employees are required to coordinate with their direct managers, preventing any disruption to essential public services.
This initiative reflects Dubai’s ongoing efforts to enhance workplace well-being, boost employee motivation, and increase overall efficiency. Moreover, the policy encourages the private sector to adopt similar flexible arrangements during Ramadan, tailored to their business needs while ensuring seamless operations.
