emirates7 - The inaugural Sirius Talent Summit concluded on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi, serving as a global platform for educators, scientists, and young talents from the UAE and Russia to exchange knowledge and strengthen academic collaboration.
The three-day event featured over 40 sessions, including scientific lectures, educational discussions, cultural activities, and sports events, all aimed at enhancing youth skills and fostering stronger academic and scientific ties between the two nations.
Elena Shmeleva, Chair of the Sirius Federal Territory Council and Head of the Talent and Success Educational Foundation, told Emirates News Agency (WAM) that educational cooperation between the UAE and Russia began in November 2024, following a high-level UAE delegation’s visit to the Sirius Centre to explore its model for nurturing young talent from an early stage.
"One of our main priorities is to establish interdisciplinary youth teams capable of addressing future scientific and technological challenges," Shmeleva stated.
She highlighted that modern education extends beyond simply transferring knowledge, instead engaging students in real-world problem-solving.
The Sirius Talent Summit reinforced both countries’ commitment to innovative education. Future initiatives will include UAE delegations visiting Sirius, joint summer schools, collaborative research projects, and expanded academic exchange programs for students and educators.
