UAEU, Sultan Qaboos University fund 5 major research projects

emirates7 - The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) and Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) have jointly sponsored five pioneering research projects through the UAEU-SQU Joint Research Programme.

As the foremost national research institutions in the UAE and Oman, this collaboration highlights their mutual dedication to advancing knowledge and tackling critical societal issues.

The selected projects cover interdisciplinary fields aligned with national priorities in both countries, including public health, pharmaceutical innovations, materials science, water security, and the digital economy.

These initiatives seek to address key challenges such as disease modeling, cancer treatment breakthroughs, sustainable industrial materials, efficient water resource management, and entrepreneurship in digital platforms.

By combining the expertise of researchers from both universities, this programme promotes innovation, enhances regional research capabilities, and contributes to finding solutions for pressing issues in the UAE and Oman.

Dr. Rami Beiram, Associate Provost for Research at UAEU, described the partnership as a significant step in regional academic collaboration. He emphasized that by leveraging strategic cooperation and shared expertise, the initiative not only fosters academic excellence but also delivers tangible solutions with real-world benefits for both nations.

Dr. Ghazi Al-Rawas, Dean of Research at SQU, highlighted the programme’s role in fostering impactful research collaborations, enabling faculty and students to work together on projects that address both national and regional priorities.
