emirates7 - Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shanghai Stemstar Education Technology Co., Ltd., a leading education technology company based in Shanghai, China.
This partnership represents a significant milestone in enhancing Research and Development (R&D) capabilities, promoting innovation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), and equipping students with the expertise required to address global challenges in sustainability and technology.
The MoU was formalized by Professor Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor of ADU, and Deepak Tyagi, Director of Shanghai Stemstar. The signing ceremony was attended by key university officials, including Dr. Hamad Odhabi, Vice Chancellor for AI and Operational Excellence; Professor Barry O’Mahony, Provost of ADU; and Salem Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of Community Relations.
As part of the collaboration, ADU and Shanghai Stemstar will establish a cutting-edge R&D Centre at the university, serving as a focal point for advancing research in Artificial Intelligence (AI), STEM disciplines, and sustainability.
The partnership will also introduce AI training programs for high school students, specialized professional development courses for Shanghai Stemstar employees, joint academic initiatives, and support for ADU’s flagship conferences, such as the ‘International Conference on Advancing Sustainable Future (ICASF).’
Furthermore, the agreement includes training and research programs, knowledge-sharing initiatives, networking opportunities, and student-focused camps in high-demand fields such as AI, STEM, and sustainability.
Professor Aouad emphasized the significance of the collaboration, stating, “Our strategic alliance with Shanghai Stemstar creates a dynamic platform for advancing STEM education, innovation, and AI training. Through this partnership, we are unlocking transformative opportunities for students and faculty to engage in groundbreaking research, gain practical experience, and drive meaningful change in their fields.”
