UAE, Uzbekistan explore ways to enhance economic relations

emirates7 - Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, met with Laziz Kudratov, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation across various economic and developmental sectors. These include the new economy, tourism, entrepreneurship, SMEs, FinTech, innovation, transportation, renewable energy, logistics, and agriculture.

Bin Touq highlighted the UAE-Uzbekistan relationship as a model of successful economic partnership rooted in shared interests and forward-looking strategies. He underscored the strong strategic ties and productive collaboration between the two nations across multiple areas of mutual interest.

He stated, "Uzbekistan is a promising economic partner in Central Asia. Our recent discussions reaffirm the commitment of both sides to strengthening partnerships in advanced and sustainable economic sectors. This collaboration fosters deeper coordination and mutual understanding, which are essential for the growth and prosperity of both economies."

Bin Touq noted the UAE’s position as a strategic gateway for Uzbek businesses to access global markets, emphasizing the country’s attractive economic environment, flexible legislation, and extensive international partnerships. He also highlighted the UAE's diverse advantages for investors and entrepreneurs in sectors such as tourism, family businesses, e-commerce, manufacturing, sustainable transportation, and technology.

Additionally, Bin Touq stressed the importance of the UAE's advanced infrastructure, innovative initiatives, and national strategies that support its evolving economic model. Strengthening private-sector collaboration between the two countries to develop high-impact initiatives aligned with shared economic goals was a key focus of the discussions.

The meeting placed particular emphasis on partnerships in renewable energy, technology, transportation, logistics, agriculture, and food security. Both sides also explored ways to support their private sectors and facilitate knowledge exchange in these crucial fields. The role of the UAE-Uzbekistan Joint Economic Committee (JEC) as a vital platform for advancing bilateral ties was also highlighted.

Concluding the meeting, Bin Touq extended an invitation to the Uzbek delegation to attend the fourth edition of Investopia, set to take place next month. The event will serve as a major platform to showcase the UAE's investment opportunities to global stakeholders while fostering collaboration across various economic sectors.
