Dubai Customs' volunteer initiatives benefit over 90,000 in 9 months

emirates7 - Dubai Customs has reported that 90,000 individuals benefited from its volunteer initiatives in the first nine months of this year. The organization carried out 23 community-focused projects, with 669 employees contributing more than 3,000 volunteer hours.

Khalil Saqr bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communications at Dubai Customs, stated that volunteering is a core part of their mission. He explained that the organization has developed a comprehensive volunteer framework based on global best practices to promote social solidarity and sustainable development.

These initiatives primarily support vulnerable groups and help build a sense of belonging and responsibility among volunteers. The success of these efforts is made possible through partnerships with key allies and accredited charitable organizations across the UAE.

Fouad Al Shehhi, Head of the Ghayyath Volunteer Team, highlighted that volunteering at Dubai Customs has provided employees with meaningful opportunities to contribute to their community and a tangible impact. The Ghayyath team has led various initiatives, including health and awareness campaigns for employees, senior citizens, and People of Determination, as well as distributing Iftar meals and Ramadan food packages. The team has also been involved in emergency response and supported official committees within the emirate.
