emirates7 - Sweden's foreign trade surplus saw an increase in July compared to the same period last year, driven by a rebound in exports, according to figures from Statistics Sweden cited by the German Press Agency (dpa) on Wednesday.
The trade surplus grew to 6.5 billion Swedish kronor (US$640 million) in July, up from 5.9 billion kronor in the same month last year. In comparison, June had a surplus of 8.1 billion kronor (US$796.08 million).
In July, the value of both exports and imports rose by nearly 6 percent year-on-year, with exports increasing by 5.9 percent and imports by 5.7 percent. The trade balance with non-EU countries showed a surplus of 22.7 billion kronor, while the trade balance with EU countries recorded a deficit of 16.2 billion kronor.
When adjusted for seasonal variations, the trade surplus stood at 7.7 billion kronor in July, slightly higher than the 7.5 billion kronor surplus in the previous month.
