emirates7 - Under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the first phase of the “Fujairah Mental Arithmetic Championship” has officially launched in Fujairah’s schools.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy aimed at sharpening students’ mental capabilities, enhancing their quick thinking and analytical skills, and aligning educational efforts with the emirate’s long-term vision and the evolving needs of the digital era and future technologies.
The launch began with the establishment of a dedicated committee that includes members from the Office of the Crown Prince, the Ministry of Education, the Fujairah Educational Zone, and expert specialists. Their mission is to design and implement a structured approach for incorporating mental arithmetic into school curricula and extracurricular activities.
As a key part of this phase, 50 teachers—mostly mathematics educators from different schools—received specialized training in collaboration with the international Smart Brain Centre. The training focused on equipping educators with effective strategies and tools to teach mental arithmetic in the classroom.
Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Director of the Office of H.H. the Crown Prince of Fujairah, highlighted that this initiative reflects Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi’s commitment to nurturing young minds and adapting the educational system to be more in tune with practical skills and cognitive advancement.
