SEWA opens scholarships’ registration for 2025-2026 academic year

emirates7 - Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has officially opened scholarship registration for outstanding high school students for the 2025–2026 academic year at the University of Sharjah and the American University of Sharjah.

Students who meet the eligibility criteria are invited to apply between 23rd June and 31st July 2025 through SEWA’s official website.

Amna Al Owais, Director of the Scholarship Programme at SEWA, highlighted the Authority’s dedication to supporting youth education and equipping future generations with the skills and knowledge needed for leadership. She noted that the initiative is part of SEWA’s broader mission to foster a sustainable, knowledge-driven society by empowering talented students and helping families meet the costs of higher education. The scholarships are also designed to align students’ academic paths with market demands.

Al Owais outlined the eligibility criteria, which include being a Sharjah citizen with a registration certificate, the child of a female citizen holding the same certificate, or the child of an imam or muezzin affiliated with the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs.

Additional requirements include graduating high school in the current academic year with a minimum GPA of 85%, and having received admission to either the University of Sharjah or the American University of Sharjah.
