emirates7 - Flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, is continuing its network expansion with the addition of four new European destinations. Starting in September 2025, the carrier will begin operating flights to Chișinău and Iași, followed by the launch of services to Riga and Vilnius in December 2025. With these additions, flydubai’s European network will grow to 35 destinations across 20 countries.
This move makes flydubai the first airline from the UAE to operate direct flights between Dubai and Iași International Airport (IAS) in Romania. The airline began its operations in Romania in 2012 with the introduction of flights to Bucharest.
The new routes also mark flydubai’s debut in the Baltic region, with direct flights to Riga International Airport (RIX) in Latvia and Vilnius International Airport (VNO) in Lithuania. This expansion increases the number of underserved markets served by the airline to over 100 destinations.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, stated, “Our growing network is a testament to our dedication to connecting underserved markets and promoting trade and tourism. The launch of these new European routes reinforces this commitment. Today, flydubai serves more than 135 destinations, with 75% of them being underserved routes from Dubai. Our entry into Eastern Europe and the Baltics will further enhance the UAE’s trade and cultural ties, while supporting Dubai’s role as a global aviation hub.”
Jeyhun Efendi, flydubai’s Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce, added, “Europe continues to be a key market for flydubai. We’re pleased to introduce services to Chișinău, Iași, Riga, and Vilnius, providing travelers with convenient access to Dubai and seamless connections beyond through our network and our codeshare agreement with Emirates.”
