Among the other key outcomes, the Council approved a new resolution regarding traffic violations. Under the new rule, any violation registered with the Sharjah Police General Command will be automatically dismissed if 10 years have elapsed since the date of the offense. A fee of AED1,000 is required to submit a waiver request, but the following cases are exempt from this fee:
1. If the vehicle owner is confirmed deceased.
2. If the owner has been continuously residing outside the country for at least 10 years.
3. If the vehicle has been abandoned and the owner cannot be located.
Additionally, the Council reviewed the proposed amendments to the draft law concerning the judicial authority in Sharjah, submitted by the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC). It was agreed that the revised draft be forwarded to H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for final approval.
The meeting also highlighted the ongoing development in Sharjah’s aviation sector, attributing the growth to the emirate’s supportive infrastructure and wide range of services. Opportunities for future expansion and increased competitiveness in the aviation industry were also explored.
