emirates7 - Motorists in Abu Dhabi are advised to exercise extra caution today, as the Met Office has forecasted dense fog in some areas until 8:30 a.m.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued red and yellow alerts due to reduced visibility in these regions. This morning, thick fog was reported in Arjan, Madinat Zayed (Al Dhafra region), Sweihan, and other parts of Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi Police reminded drivers on social media: “During foggy conditions, the maximum speed limit on Abu Dhabi roads is reduced to 80 km/h. Motorists are urged to adhere to this limit for their safety and the safety of others.”
According to the NCM, the weather across the UAE will be partly cloudy, especially in eastern areas. There is also a chance that convective clouds could develop in the afternoon, potentially bringing rainfall.
Those with dust allergies should take precautions outdoors, as light to moderate winds may cause blowing dust and sand.
Temperatures are expected to range from 37°C to 44°C during the day and 27°C to 31°C at night. Coastal areas will experience highs of 37°C to 44°C and lows of 31°C, while mountainous regions will see highs of 37°C to 44°C and lows around 28°C.
Humidity levels are forecasted to be high, ranging from 70% to 90% in coastal areas and 55% to 75% in mountainous regions. The NCM also expects relative humidity to rise overnight and on Thursday morning, particularly over coastal and inland areas.
Sea conditions will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
