Meta's Mark E. Zuckerberg sued by US lawyer Mark S. Zuckerberg

emirates7 - In an unusual legal case, Indiana bankruptcy lawyer Mark S. Zuckerberg has sued Meta Platforms Inc., claiming the company repeatedly suspended his Facebook and Instagram accounts for allegedly “impersonating” its CEO, Mark E. Zuckerberg.

According to the complaint filed in Marion Superior Court, the lawyer says his personal and professional accounts were disabled multiple times between 2022 and 2025. He reports that his personal profile was deactivated nine times, and his law firm’s page was removed five times. He argues these disruptions interfered with client communication and resulted in nearly $11,000 in wasted Facebook advertising costs.

The lawsuit accuses Meta of negligence and breach of contract, claiming the company failed to properly differentiate between users with the same name and mishandled its moderation processes. Zuckerberg compared the repeated shutdowns to “buying a billboard and then having someone cover it with a sheet.”

Although Meta eventually reinstated his accounts, admitting the suspensions were “in error,” the attorney is still seeking damages, asserting that the repeated deactivations damaged his business and reputation.

The case has drawn widespread attention online, with many amused by the irony of “Mark Zuckerberg suing Mark Zuckerberg.” The Indiana lawyer has also embraced the humor, joking, “If the other Mark Zuckerberg wants to apologize in person—or maybe invite me onto his yacht—I’d accept.”
