emirates7 - Dense fog blanketed several parts of Abu Dhabi early this morning, prompting the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) to issue red and yellow alerts warning of low visibility on some roads across the emirate.
Fog was particularly reported in Arjan and Al Ghuwaifat in the Al Dhafra region, with conditions expected to persist until 8:30 a.m., according to the NCM.
Abu Dhabi Police, in a safety message on social media, reminded motorists that speed limits on Abu Dhabi roads are automatically reduced to 80 km/h during foggy conditions, urging drivers to adhere to the rule for their own safety and that of others.
Early morning temperatures hovered around 32°C nationwide. Forecasters expect hot weather during the day, with maximums reaching up to 45°C. Coastal areas are likely to see highs between 35°C and 42°C, internal regions between 41°C and 45°C, while mountainous areas will remain cooler at 30°C to 36°C.
The NCM noted skies will be partly cloudy, with low clouds forming in the east during the morning and a chance of convective cloud development later in the afternoon. A slight in temperatures is also expected.
Humidity levels are forecast to rise significantly, reaching 70–90% overnight and into Wednesday morning, which may lead to further fog or mist in some coastal and inland areas. Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally causing blowing dust.
Sea conditions are expected to be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
