emirates7 - The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced the launch of the Flight Operations Centralised Unified System (F.O.C.U.S.), a new digital platform aimed at simplifying and streamlining interactions between foreign and national air operators and aviation stakeholders across the UAE.
F.O.C.U.S. serves as a unified portal for obtaining operational approvals at UAE airports, consolidating information and linking operators with key entities in one online platform.
Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the GCAA, described the launch as a significant milestone in the Authority’s digital transformation efforts. He noted that the platform reflects a broader vision to bring federal and local aviation bodies under a single framework, making processes more efficient and responsive to operators’ requirements.
Eng. Aqeel Al Zarouni, Assistant Director General for Aviation Safety Affairs Sector, said the system enhances engagement with the aviation sector by simplifying compliance, cutting approval times, and ensuring operators have access to the latest regulatory updates through a streamlined and user-friendly interface.
The initial phase of the rollout is now active, with future stages to include wider partnerships and additional features, supporting the GCAA’s goal of a fully digital aviation ecosystem.
The initiative also highlights the Authority’s commitment to the Zero Government Bureaucracy (ZGB) agenda and its drive to boost efficiency through process simplification.
