Coolest morning of the season, rains expected over the weekend

emirates7 - The UAE recorded its lowest temperature of the season in the early hours of Saturday, with 26.6°C measured at 3 a.m. on Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM).

The in temperatures coincided with unsettled weather across several areas of the country, where rainfall varied between heavy and light on Friday. Showers were reported in Wadi Al Ajeeli, Wadi Tawi, Masafi Road, Mazira Masfout, and along the Al Madam–Al Shuwaib road.

Meteorologists explained that the conditions were driven by a shallow surface depression moving in from the east, combined with a weak upper-air trough.

Weather fluctuations are expected to persist through the weekend, with partly cloudy skies and the possibility of convective clouds forming over eastern and southern regions, which could bring more rain.

Humidity is forecast to rise at night and in the early morning, increasing the likelihood of fog or light mist in coastal and inland areas.

Winds are anticipated to range between 10 and 25 km/h, coming from the southeast to northeast, with occasional gusts reaching up to 40 km/h. Both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will generally be slight to moderate, though conditions may become choppy at times with passing clouds.

Looking ahead to the coming week, forecasters expect fluctuating late-summer weather. Sunday and Monday should bring partly cloudy skies with a chance of scattered showers in eastern and southern areas.

By Tuesday, a slight in coastal temperatures is predicted, alongside cumulus cloud development, rainfall, and stronger winds across parts of the country. Convective activity is also likely in eastern regions by Wednesday, potentially leading to further rain.
