emirates7 - Dubai Customs welcomed a delegation from Angola Customs, headed by José Vieira Nuno Lira, Chairman of Angola’s General Tax Authority, along with senior officials.
The purpose of the visit was to gain insight into Dubai Customs’ leading practices and innovative digital projects that are transforming customs operations.
The delegation was received by Mansoor Al Malik, Executive Director of the Policies and Legislation Division at Dubai Customs, alongside several department directors. Al Malik emphasized Dubai Customs’ commitment to sharing expertise with customs administrations worldwide, in line with Dubai’s vision of boosting international cooperation and streamlining customs processes. He noted that such collaboration strengthens global supply chain resilience, supports economic growth, and fosters knowledge exchange, innovation, and the adoption of best practices.
During the visit, the Angolan officials were introduced to key digital initiatives such as the Smart Risk Engine, which detects high-risk shipments and accelerates clearance; the Authorised Economic Operator Programme, aimed at facilitating trade and enhancing supply chain efficiency; and the Makzni platform for digital warehouse management.
The programme also included a tour of the main control room and Cargo Village, where the delegation observed the latest border protection systems and cargo handling procedures.
At the end of the visit, the Angolan delegation commended Dubai Customs’ advanced model of modern customs management and expressed interest in leveraging its expertise to expand technical cooperation between both sides.
