emirates7 - The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) held its regular meeting on Tuesday under the chairmanship of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Council. The session, hosted at the Ruler’s Office, was also attended by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Council.
During the meeting, the Council reviewed a number of issues related to the regulation and performance of government departments and institutions across the emirate, as well as development initiatives aimed at enhancing service quality for residents.
In line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Council approved a new plan to boost the efficiency of government entities. The initiative grants greater authority to branch managers and staff, enabling them to deliver services more effectively and promptly. It also places emphasis on strengthening customer satisfaction through timely, high-quality service delivery.
The plan includes a comprehensive development programme for government employees, with training workshops designed to build capacity among branch managers and staff across various entities. It seeks to ensure that every city in the emirate has access to a full suite of government services tailored to local community needs, while also enhancing the government’s responsiveness and operational excellence.
The Council further endorsed an updated resolution concerning the Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Team, replacing a 2011 decision. Under the new framework, the team will be led by the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police and will comprise senior representatives from key local and federal entities at the Director-General level. The restructuring aims to strengthen preparedness and response through unified procedures, coordinated plans, and regular practice drills across the emirate.
Additionally, the Council reviewed a report on the confiscation of illegal and unlicensed motorcycles, bicycles, and e-bikes in Sharjah. From the beginning of 2025 until August, authorities seized 19,102 vehicles as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and safeguard all road users.
The session also examined feedback from the Sharjah International Airport Authority regarding recommendations submitted by the Sharjah Consultative Council. The SEC underscored the importance of adopting these suggestions to enhance the Authority’s services, support its future growth, and better serve the needs of travelers and the wider community.
