emirates7 - The Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) has held its first Customer Council meeting, underscoring its commitment to customer service excellence and supporting the UAE Government’s Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme.
The meeting brought together more than 30 representatives from the nuclear and radiation sector, including licensees from industrial, medical, and other fields. It was followed by a workshop where participants exchanged ideas and submitted recommendations to further improve FANR’s services.
Christer Viktorsson, FANR’s Director-General, stated that the inaugural Customer Council highlights the authority’s dedication to delivering high-quality services to the nuclear and radiation sector while maintaining its core responsibility of protecting the public and environment through strict regulatory oversight.
As the UAE’s independent nuclear regulator, FANR oversees more than 3,000 licensees that use nuclear and radiation materials, ensuring safety and environmental protection.
The authority continues to advance its smart licensing systems to enhance efficiency, transparency, and regulatory effectiveness, making it easier for licensees to operate.
FANR is also moving forward with the second phase of the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, which seeks to remove unnecessary digital processes, eliminate duplicate approvals, upgrade digital platforms, and integrate artificial intelligence to further enhance customer service and experience.
