MBRF launches Knowledge Lounge in Egypt to inspire Arab readers

emirates7 - The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) has introduced its Knowledge Lounge initiative in the Arab Republic of Egypt, reinforcing its ongoing efforts to cultivate a culture of quality reading in Arabic and to nurture the intellectual potential of young people.

The launch took place at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in a session moderated by writer Said Mahmoud, with the attendance of prominent literary and cultural figures.

Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, stated, “Launching the Knowledge Lounge in Egypt represents an important step in MBRF’s regional expansion, aiming to extend our projects to key Arab knowledge hubs. This initiative reflects our commitment to encouraging reading among Arab youth, helping them broaden their horizons and develop expertise across diverse intellectual fields. Hosting the launch at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina underscores our belief in the significance of this historic institution as a center of science, knowledge, and creativity. It also highlights our dedication to implementing initiatives that empower minds, enhance skills, and promote openness and knowledge sharing.”

The session included discussions on the Knowledge Lounge’s history and growth since its inception, particularly its emphasis on supporting Arab authors and literature. Participants also noted the success of the initiative in Canada, where it strengthened support for Arab writers and promoted Arabic reading among expatriate communities.

With its expansion into Egypt, the Knowledge Lounge will adopt a similar approach, focusing on Egyptian authors and fostering readership within a sustainable framework. The initiative has already proven its impact and continuity, establishing itself as a prominent reading club both locally and internationally.

Continuing its inspiring journey, the Knowledge Lounge conducts sessions and engaging discussions across a range of literary and intellectual topics. It aims to support readers, writers, and thinkers, empowering them to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the Arabic language and the development of Arab societies.
