emirates7 - Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Alexandria University – Abu Dhabi, met today with Dr. Ayman Ashour, Egypt’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
The meeting focused on the progress of preparations for the opening of Alexandria University’s Abu Dhabi campus, set to coincide with the start of the 2025–2026 academic year.
They also discussed opportunities for collaboration in higher education, scientific research, innovation, and academic exchange, with an emphasis on enhancing research outcomes to develop human capital and strengthen the knowledge economies of both nations.
Sheikh Khalifa highlighted the longstanding fraternal ties between the UAE and Egypt as a strong foundation for advancing academic and scientific partnerships. He praised the rapid development and growing regional and international reputation of Egypt’s higher education sector and commended Alexandria University’s leading role. He noted that the Abu Dhabi campus will provide advanced programs aligned with labor market needs and national development goals.
Dr. Ayman Ashour underlined the historic and strategic relations between the two countries and expressed Egypt’s commitment to expanding cooperation with UAE academic institutions in various educational and research fields, aiming to nurture national talent and prepare future generations for innovation and active contributions to sustainable development.
