Compelling documentary showcases Dubai Humanitarian’s work as world’s largest humanitarian logistics hub

emirates7 - Dubai Humanitarian, the world’s largest humanitarian logistics hub, has released a new documentary titled “Coming Together: The Dubai Humanitarian Story”, offering an in-depth look at the operations of the leading global humanitarian response facility.

The film highlights Dubai Humanitarian’s swift interventions in crises, from devastating floods in Pakistan to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, showcasing how the hub unites United Nations agencies, international NGOs, and government partners to coordinate life-saving aid in real time.

A central focus of the documentary is the scale of Dubai Humanitarian’s operations. The 150,000-square-metre warehouse complex, donated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, ensures that essential supplies—such as vaccines, health kits, and clean water—can reach crisis zones within hours.

The film also emphasizes the contributions of Dubai Humanitarian’s partners, including the UN World Food Programme, UNHCR, Dubai Customs, and Emirates Airline. Their collaboration allows relief operations to be fast, seamless, and scalable. The combined expertise in customs clearance, logistics, and airlift capacity has been crucial in overcoming complex humanitarian challenges, ensuring aid reaches those in need quickly. The documentary also captures the human side of these operations, portraying the dedication of aid workers, customs officials, and airline crews delivering hope to affected communities.

Giuseppe Saba, CEO of Dubai Humanitarian, said, “Dubai Humanitarian is more than a logistics hub—it’s a global lifeline. This film demonstrates what can be achieved when the world comes together, guided by the UAE’s purposeful leadership.” He added, “In 2025, extraordinary global challenges continue. Through close cooperation with UN and other relief partners, Dubai Humanitarian delivered over AED179.2 million in aid to 81 countries in the first half of the year, with shelter and health support being particularly critical. We remain committed to supporting the international humanitarian community and protecting the most vulnerable.”

Sajeda Shawa, Head of the UN OCHA UAE, noted, “Humanitarian aid must be delivered according to humanitarian principles, without discrimination and with full equality. Representing those who cannot speak for themselves is not a luxury—it is a responsibility, an honor, and a lifelong mission.”

Dubai Humanitarian also operates an AI-powered Humanitarian Logistics Databank, providing real-time analytics, demand forecasting, and stock visibility across time zones. This system allows aid agencies to anticipate needs, prevent price fluctuations, and prepare for seasonal surges, such as increased shelter requirements during monsoon seasons in Bangladesh.

Strategically located just ten minutes from Jebel Ali Port and Al Maktoum International Airport, Dubai Humanitarian can reach two-thirds of the world’s hazard-prone population within four to eight hours. As the Humanitarian Logistics Databank expands to 11 hubs, more aid will be sourced locally, reducing carbon emissions and speeding up delivery.

From January to June 2025, Dubai Humanitarian distributed over US$48.8 million worth of aid to 81 countries. Health support accounted for nearly US$14 million, providing medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and essential supplies, while water and sanitation aid totaled US$1 million. Almost a third of assistance—about US$15 million—went toward shelter, including over 937,000 items such as tents and winterization kits.

By June 2025, Dubai Humanitarian’s stock value stood at US$208.1 million. A key milestone in the first half of the year was the 25th airlift to Gaza in April, delivering 56.8 metric tonnes of critical medical supplies valued at over US$1 million (AED4.3 million) from the World Health Organization to El Arish Airport in Egypt.

Premiered on World Humanitarian Day, 19th August, the documentary is now available on the Dubai Humanitarian YouTube channel: [Watch Here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjKME2Sj3-c).
