Ministry of Economy and Tourism to host ‘UAE Africa Tourism Investment Summit’ in October

emirates7 - The Ministry of Economy and Tourism has announced that Dubai will host the UAE Africa Tourism Investment Summit on October 27, 2025, as part of the Future Hospitality Summit (FHS World 2025), one of the world’s leading platforms for the hospitality, tourism, and investment industries. The event is designed to strengthen economic and tourism ties between the UAE and African nations, with a focus on boosting mutual investments in tourism, hospitality, and related services.

In preparation for the Summit, the Ministry of Economy and Tourism signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Bench, the organisers of FHS World, in the presence of Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism. The MoU was signed by Badreya Al Maidoor, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector at the Ministry, and Daria Smith, Portfolio Director at The Bench. Both parties will cooperate in organising and promoting the event to spotlight tourism-related investment opportunities and projects across Africa.

The Summit will gather more than 250 senior participants, including government officials, policymakers, and investors from 53 African countries, such as tourism ministers and representatives from investment promotion agencies. This initiative underscores the UAE’s position as a trusted investment partner for Africa and paves the way for broader strategic cooperation in vital sectors that support sustainable and integrated economic growth.

Badreya Al Maidoor stated that the UAE Africa Tourism Investment Summit will act as a strategic platform for exchanging knowledge and expertise between the UAE and African nations, supporting sustainable development by fostering projects and partnerships of mutual benefit. She added that this aligns with the “We the UAE 2031” vision, which aims to make the UAE a leading global hub for the new economy, driven by global partnerships and future-oriented sectors.

Jonathan Worsley, Chairman and CEO of The Bench, expressed pride in partnering with the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism to introduce the UAE Africa Tourism Investment Summit at FHS World 2025. He noted that the collaboration highlights a shared commitment to advancing investment and development in Africa’s hospitality sector. He emphasized that the UAE has long acted as a bridge between global investors and emerging markets, and that this new platform will enhance connections between African nations and the global investment community, fostering dialogue, facilitating deals, and driving long-term economic growth.

The Summit will provide a space for participants to explore collaborative opportunities between government and private sector stakeholders in tourism, hospitality, investment, and infrastructure across both the UAE and Africa. It will also spotlight future initiatives within the tourism and hospitality industries in both regions.
