emirates7 - EMSTEEL, one of the region’s largest publicly listed steel and building materials producers, announced today that its steel division, Emirates Steel Industries (part of EMSTEEL Group), has become the first company in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to achieve ResponsibleSteel Core Site certification.
The certification was granted after a thorough audit by CARES, a globally recognised certification body, which assessed Emirates Steel Industries’ performance against a comprehensive set of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards. The evaluation confirmed the company’s adherence to the highest levels of ethical business conduct and environmental stewardship.
This milestone follows another recent accolade, with EMSTEEL being named a 2025 Steel Sustainability Champion by the World Steel Association (worldsteel) — the only MENA-based company to receive this honour for the second year in a row.
Together, these recognitions underscore EMSTEEL’s consistent leadership and tangible progress in promoting sustainable steel production.
Group CEO Engineer Saeed Ghumran Al Remeithi said the certification is “a proud milestone” and reflects EMSTEEL’s unwavering commitment to sustainability, innovation, and responsible growth. “As the first in the MENA region to meet this global benchmark, we remain dedicated to advancing the nation’s manufacturing ambitions while setting new standards for decarbonising the steel value chain,” he added.
