Dubai Centre for Family Businesses introduces three advisory services

emirates7 - The Dubai Centre for Family Businesses, a division under Dubai Chambers, has introduced three specialised advisory services to promote the sustainable growth and resilience of family-owned enterprises in the emirate.

This initiative is designed to reinforce the governance frameworks of family businesses, enhance their ability to adapt to changing economic conditions, and help them seize new growth opportunities. It reflects the centre’s ongoing efforts to boost the contribution of family businesses to Dubai’s economic future by protecting their interests, improving efficiency, and cultivating leadership for long-term success.

Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, highlighted the critical role of family businesses in driving Dubai’s economic growth, diversification, and innovation. He stressed the importance of supporting their continued prosperity to elevate the emirate’s global competitiveness and ensure sustainable development.

Lootah noted that the centre is dedicated to helping family businesses navigate economic changes and adopt international best practices, ultimately strengthening Dubai’s private sector and enhancing the city’s status as a global business hub.

The first advisory service, Current-State Assessment & Family Constitution Review, offers a comprehensive analysis of a family business’s governance structure. It includes a detailed evaluation of existing Family Constitutions using the centre’s automated Governance Assessment Tool, which benchmarks practices against regulatory requirements and international standards. The service identifies governance gaps and risks, promotes stakeholder alignment, and delivers tailored recommendations to support sustainable growth.

The second offering, Family Constitution Drafting, assists families in creating a foundational document that outlines governance principles, policies, and decision-making mechanisms. Through interviews and collaborative workshops with family members and key stakeholders, the service ensures alignment with the family’s shared vision and values. It establishes clear roles, responsibilities, and eligibility criteria for leadership, and defines rules to manage conflicts and guide long-term planning.

The third service, Family Office Blueprint, supports families in setting up dedicated entities to manage their wealth, investments, and personal affairs. Through interactive workshops, the centre helps define the objectives, services, and staffing needs of the Family Office. The service clarifies the scope and goals of the office, explores options for wealth preservation and legacy planning, and identifies the necessary competencies and roles to ensure its success.
