emirates7 - The UAE’s eighth aid vessel, Khalifa, arrived at Egypt’s Al Arish Port on Tuesday as part of “Operation Chivalrous Knight 3,” in preparation for delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. This marks a continued effort by the UAE to support the Palestinian people amid ongoing humanitarian challenges in the region.
The ship was welcomed by a delegation of representatives from humanitarian and charitable organizations, including Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), alongside Egyptian officials.
The arrival of Khalifa highlights the UAE’s unwavering dedication to providing relief assistance to Palestinians, particularly in light of the deepening crisis in Gaza.
Departing from Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi, the ship carried 7,166 tonnes of aid, including food, medicines, medical equipment, shelter materials, dates, and other relief items.
The cargo included 4,372 tonnes of food, 1,433 tonnes of shelter supplies, 860 tonnes of medical equipment, and 501 tonnes of health-related items. With this delivery, the UAE’s total aid sent to Gaza now exceeds 80,000 tonnes.
This shipment is part of the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian initiatives, reaffirming its commitment to supporting just causes and alleviating the suffering caused by regional crises.
