Abdulla Al Hamed holds media, academic meetings in Osaka ahead of BRIDGE Summit

emirates7 - Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office (NMO) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Media Council, held several meetings with media and academic leaders in Osaka, Japan. He was accompanied by Dr. Jamal Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Director-General of the National Media Office.

This visit marks the beginning of Al Hamed’s Asia tour, aimed at preparations for the upcoming BRIDGE Summit, which is set to take place in Abu Dhabi this December.

The tour underscores Al Hamed’s dedication to enhancing international collaboration and broadening strategic partnerships with prominent global institutions in the fields of media, education, intellectual leadership, and advanced technology.

During the meetings, Al Hamed explored opportunities for joint cooperation with leading Japanese institutions and key figures. Discussions centered on the fusion of traditional and new media, the role of universities and cultural organizations in nurturing the next generation of media and thought leaders, and the importance of creative platforms in promoting cross-cultural understanding.

Al Hamed highlighted that the BRIDGE Summit offers a crucial strategic platform to harmonize global media and cultural initiatives amid a swiftly evolving environment. He emphasized that forming partnerships with respected entities such as Japan’s public broadcaster NHK, Tokyo International University, and major media outlets strengthens the UAE’s status as a global hub for media and intellectual exchange.

Among those involved in the meetings were Takeshi Shibasaki, Executive Producer and Head of Co-production at NHK’s Value Development Center; Mika Sugiura, Editor-in-Chief of Japan Forward; Cy West, Chief Operating Officer of Rihga Royal Hotel Osaka; and Wada Masashi, Honorary Professor at Tokyo International University.
