NMDC Energy commences fabrication at Ras Al-Khair yard, Saudi Arabia

emirates7 - NMDC Energy, a prominent provider of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for both offshore and onshore energy clients, has commenced fabrication activities at its state-of-the-art facility in Ras Al-Khair, Saudi Arabia.

Located strategically within the Ras Al-Khair Special Economic Zone, this 400,000 square meter fabrication yard is equipped to handle offshore and onshore projects, boasting an annual production capacity of 40,000 tonnes.

The facility features cutting-edge automation and digital technologies, offering comprehensive services including fabrication, rigging, maintenance, and modularisation for complex energy infrastructure.

NMDC Energy has invested AED 200 million to develop productive and safe operations at the Ras Al-Khair site, with a strong focus on emissions reduction. By integrating advanced technologies, the company aims to deliver innovative solutions that meet the energy sector’s demands while supporting Aramco.

Mohamed Hamad Almehairi, Chairman of NMDC Energy, stated, “Initiating fabrication activities in Ras Al-Khair marks a significant milestone in our regional growth plans. Drawing on over 51 years of expertise, NMDC Energy is proud to extend its tradition of excellence into the Kingdom, fostering new opportunities for growth throughout Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the broader region.”

The yard is already active, currently producing nine offshore jackets for long-term client Aramco. This ongoing fabrication work aligns with Saudi Arabia’s industrial and localization objectives, expanding NMDC’s client base and contributing to Saudi Vision 2030 by increasing strategic industrial capacity.

To ensure efficient project execution, over 1,800 skilled employees will be relocated from Abu Dhabi to Saudi Arabia, guaranteeing strict quality control and timely delivery of advanced infrastructure projects.

The Ras Al-Khair yard is a key element of NMDC Energy’s Saudi expansion and localization plan. Over the last five years, the company has reinvested billions of riyals into the Saudi economy and aims to raise its In-Kingdom Total Value Add (iktva) to 39% by 2025 and 51% by 2028.

As a major tenant in the Ras Al-Khair Special Economic Zone, NMDC Energy contributes to enhancing trade, investment, and job creation within Saudi Arabia.

Looking ahead, NMDC Energy intends to fully utilize the capabilities of the Ras Al-Khair facility to drive joint innovation and shared growth across the energy and manufacturing sectors.
