Development of Egypt's Arcadia-28 oil well boosts output to 4,100 boe/d

emirates7 - The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has announced the commencement of production from the "Arcadia‑28" oil well, situated in the Western Desert. This follows the application of an advanced technical treatment expected to increase the well’s output by approximately 4,100 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d).

According to the Ministry’s statement today, the well targets the “Masajid Carbonate” underground rock formation and was brought into operation after undergoing a precise acid stimulation process—a treatment method similar to that used on the “Iris” well, Agiba’s recent oil and gas discovery in Egypt’s Western Desert.

The production increase results directly from activating the "Arcadia-28" well on July 19, 2025, and highlights the success of ongoing development and expansion projects within the company’s concession areas, as noted by the Ministry.

This development also supports the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ primary strategic objective to enhance domestic petroleum production.
