Tadej Pogačar wins his fourth Tour de France for UAE Team Emirates-XRG

emirates7 - Tadej Pogačar clinched his fourth Tour de France title on Sunday after finishing fourth on the final stage in Paris. Celebrating alongside his UAE Team Emirates-XRG teammates, the Slovenian world champion capped a dominant performance that secured the team’s fourth overall victory in just six years.

Pogačar’s 2025 triumph was perhaps his most emphatic to date. Remarkably, he didn’t lose a single second to any of the top five riders in the general classification from stages 1 through 20—an achievement matched only once before, by Maurice Garin in the inaugural Tour de France in 1903.

Throughout the race, Pogačar delivered four unforgettable stage wins and successfully kept his main rival, Jonas Vingegaard of Visma–Lease a Bike, at bay. Despite a valiant effort from the Danish rider—who pushed hard, especially during an aggressive stage 18—Vingegaard couldn’t reclaim the title he won in 2022 and 2023, ultimately settling for second place. Florian Lipowitz of Red Bull–BORA–hansgrohe completed the podium in third.

UAE Team Emirates-XRG closed their ninth Tour appearance with five stage victories—four from Pogačar and one from Tim Wellens, who triumphed from a breakaway on stage 15. The team now boasts 26 stage wins in Tour history.

Pogačar wore the iconic Yellow Jersey for 13 stages and stood atop the final podium not only as the overall winner but also as the King of the Mountains—earning the polka dot jersey for the third time in his career thanks to dominant climbing performances.

From the Grand Départ in Lille to the finish in Paris, Pogačar and his squad delivered a thrilling three-week campaign. He took early control with victories on stage 4 in Rouen and stage 7 on Mûr-de-Bretagne. Despite losing a teammate before the first rest day, UAE Team Emirates-XRG responded strongly in the Pyrenees. Pogačar claimed consecutive wins on Hautacam and Peyragudes, and Wellens capped the second week with his stage 15 victory.

Pogačar’s final time for the 2025 Tour de France was 76 hours, 0 minutes, and 32 seconds—putting him 4 minutes and 24 seconds ahead of Vingegaard, and 11 minutes clear of Lipowitz. With this performance, UAE Team Emirates-XRG and Tadej Pogačar reaffirm their place at the top of the cycling world.
