Dubai Centre for Family Businesses highlights structuring of family business legacy models

emirates7 - The Dubai Centre for Family Businesses, operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, recently hosted a new session in its ongoing “Governance Series.”

The event, which brought together 21 leaders from family-run enterprises, focused on family governance and legacy structures that support the sustainable, long-term growth of family businesses.

Organised in partnership with the Indian Business & Professional Council (IBPC), the session highlighted practical approaches for future-proofing family-owned businesses. Discussions centred around establishing clear governance frameworks and legal structures to ensure smooth leadership transitions and support continuity across generations.

Participants examined real-life case studies showcasing successful legacy-building strategies, with an emphasis on tools that help preserve and grow family businesses over time.

In her opening address, Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, said, “Our goal is to empower family businesses to sustain their growth and enhance their role in building a diversified and resilient economy. We do this by encouraging the implementation of sound governance practices, strong management systems, and effective succession planning.”
