DFZ Council, DWTC Free Zone welcome Louis Vuitton as first corporate member under Dubai's One Freezone Passport Initiative

emirates7 - The Dubai Free Zones Council (DFZC) has officially launched the One Freezone Passport, a pioneering initiative designed to simplify business operations across Dubai’s various free zones. This innovative framework allows companies to operate in multiple free zones under a single business licence, streamlining processes and boosting the emirate’s appeal as a global business hub in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

As part of this major step, the Dubai World Trade Centre Authority (DWTCA), which oversees the Dubai World Trade Centre Free Zone, has onboarded Louis Vuitton as the first global brand to take advantage of the new system. Under the programme, Louis Vuitton will continue managing its warehouse operations in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) while setting up its corporate office in One Za’abeel, located in the DWTC Free Zone. This successful cross-zone expansion highlights the programme’s role in facilitating smooth and rapid business growth.

The entire licence extension process was completed within five days, showcasing Dubai’s world-class efficiency in business setup and regulatory facilitation. This supports the goals of D33, which aims to position Dubai as a top-tier global destination for business expansion and investment.

Dr. Juma Al Matrooshi, Assistant Secretary General of DFZC, described the One Freezone Passport as a game-changing initiative, further solidifying Dubai’s status as a global economic leader. He noted that enabling businesses to scale across Dubai’s premium free zones with ease sends a strong message to international investors about the emirate’s dynamic and supportive regulatory environment.

Abdalla Al Banna, Vice President of Free Zone Regulatory Operations at DWTC, emphasized that Louis Vuitton’s swift expansion is a testament to Dubai’s ability to attract high-calibre global brands and offer them seamless operational flexibility. He added that this initiative enhances the emirate’s investment landscape, contributing significantly to its vision of becoming the world’s top choice for international business setup.

Amna Al Ali, Vice President of Licensing and Registration at JAFZA, reaffirmed the transformative nature of the programme. She explained that it allows companies licensed in one free zone to utilize facilities in other zones across Dubai without the need for additional licences, significantly enhancing operational agility and contributing to the emirate’s global competitiveness.

Louis Vuitton’s expansion into DWTC Free Zone further strengthens its role as a driver of innovation and business growth in Dubai. The initiative builds on the city’s long-standing reputation for launching forward-looking strategies that accelerate economic development and operational efficiency. With initiatives like this, Dubai continues to attract international enterprises across diverse sectors.

The DWTC Free Zone itself offers a competitive, well-regulated ecosystem tailored to the needs of businesses ranging from multinational corporations to startups. Hosting companies from over 40 sectors, it provides a vibrant, central location with flexible services that support a wide array of tenant needs, reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a leading global commercial hub.
