emirates7 - The Higher Committee of Human Fraternity (HCHF), based in Abu Dhabi, is partnering with the Indonesian International Islamic University (IIIU) to host an International Conference on Human Fraternity in Jakarta on 29th–30th July.
Themed "Advancing Human Fraternity Amid Global Uncertainty: Towards a More Peaceful and Prosperous Civilisation," the event marks a major milestone following the Memorandum of Understanding signed by HCHF and IIIU in September 2024.
The conference also celebrates the launch of the Indonesian Institute of Human Fraternity, a new centre within IIIU focused on promoting global dialogue, mutual understanding, and collaboration among diverse communities.
Bringing together government officials, religious figures, scholars, activists, and civil society representatives, the gathering will explore pressing global issues and develop practical strategies to foster human fraternity and overcome divisions in a polarized world.
Discussions will be organized around four key themes: fostering international fraternity; advancing rights and social justice; media’s role in uniting communities; and addressing climate change, global crises, and environmental equity.
"This conference is a reaffirmation of our joint mission to transform the ideal of fraternity into lived experience," said Prof. Jamhari, Rector of IIIU. "It is a timely appeal for unity and collaboration to build a fairer and more inclusive world."
The concept of Human Fraternity, outlined in the landmark 2019 Abu Dhabi Document signed by Pope Francis and Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, stresses the shared humanity and collective responsibility of all people.
This global conference reflects the ongoing partnership between HCHF and IIIU to position human fraternity as a driving force for international peace, unity, and progress.
