emirates7 - The Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA), in partnership with the Ministry of Education, has launched a new series of “Schools Sports Festivals” set to run through November 2025.
Centered on basketball and volleyball, the initiative is designed for schoolgirls aged 13 to 17, with the goal of uncovering emerging talent and preparing the next generation of athletes for both national and international competitions.
A total of six festivals will be held as part of the programme, aiming to identify exceptional young players and offer the most promising participants a chance to join the academy’s official teams.
This effort underscores FBMA’s strong commitment to empowering women in sports across the UAE. It seeks to nurture local talent, strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Education and schools, and promote a vibrant sports culture among young girls.
The first festival has already been held at FBMA’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, attracting 70 students from five different schools.
