UAE swelters under 49°C heat after showers in Dubai and Al Ain

emirates7 - Following unexpected rainfall in parts of Dubai and Al Ain yesterday, many residents are wondering whether more rain is on the way today.

According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), the UAE will continue to endure intense summer heat, with inland temperatures potentially climbing to 49°C under generally fair to partly cloudy skies.

The weather authority has also highlighted the possibility of convective cloud development by the afternoon, especially in the eastern and southern regions, which could lead to additional rain.

Coastal and island areas are expected to see highs between 40°C and 45°C, while temperatures in mountainous regions will range from a more moderate 33°C to 39°C.

Humidity levels are forecast to increase overnight and into Wednesday morning, particularly in coastal zones, raising the chances of fog or mist forming and moving from the southeast to the northwest. Winds will generally be light to moderate at 10–25 km/h but could strengthen to 40 km/h during the day, stirring up dust and reducing visibility in some areas.

Seas will remain calm, with only slight wave activity in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Authorities advise residents to stay well-hydrated, limit time outdoors during peak heat hours, and drive carefully in areas prone to low visibility due to fog or blowing dust.
