Dubai Health Authority welcomes 20 global health leaders

emirates7 - The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) recently hosted a delegation of 20 senior healthcare leaders from around the world, as part of its involvement in the International Programme for Health Leadership. This initiative, organized by the Government Experience Exchange Office (GEEO) under the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, aims to share global best practices in healthcare and foster institutional partnerships.

The visiting delegation was introduced to Dubai’s innovative healthcare model and the notable progress made in sustainability and quality of care—achievements that underscore the emirate’s strong global reputation in public health and quality of life rankings.

During the engagement, DHA teams presented key highlights of the ongoing transformation of Dubai’s healthcare system and outlined the emirate’s strategic vision for the sector. Discussions also focused on Dubai’s framework for public health protection, including its preventive and epidemic response mechanisms.

A comprehensive presentation was delivered, emphasizing DHA’s initiatives to enhance community health, boost preventive capabilities, and integrate robust legislative and regulatory foundations in the healthcare domain.

The delegation was also briefed on Dubai’s regulatory standards for healthcare, showcasing advanced policies that reflect DHA’s strategic outlook and future direction in managing healthcare professionals and facilities. The integrated health insurance system and sustainable financing models, which ensure service continuity and cost-efficiency, were also discussed.

Additionally, a specialized session highlighted findings from Dubai’s Household Health Survey, showcasing how reliable data supports informed decision-making and evidence-based planning.

The visit included a tour of the DHA’s Crisis and Disaster Management Centre, where the delegation received insights into Dubai’s emergency health response systems. The centre’s high-level readiness and response capabilities during crises were particularly noted.

Dr. Alawi AlSheikh-Ali, Director-General of the DHA, emphasized that the remarkable development of Dubai’s healthcare sector has been instrumental in cementing the emirate’s role as a global benchmark for quality of life and healthcare excellence.
