Temperatures soar to 49°C with rain, dust expected Monday

emirates7 - The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather alert for extremely high temperatures across the UAE today, with some interior regions expected to hit a scorching 49°C.

The overall weather will be mostly clear to partly cloudy, with a possibility of convective cloud development over eastern and southern areas, which could bring localized rainfall. A slight rise in temperatures is also expected.

Inland areas will see maximum temperatures ranging between 44°C and 49°C, while coastal and island regions will experience highs from 40°C to 45°C. Mountainous regions will be comparatively cooler, with temperatures between 33°C and 39°C.

Humidity levels are expected to increase overnight and into Tuesday morning, particularly in coastal and interior areas, possibly leading to mist formation.

Winds will generally be light to moderate, occasionally becoming stronger during the day and may cause blowing dust, reducing visibility at times. The sea will remain calm to slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Authorities urge residents to stay well-hydrated, avoid outdoor exposure during peak heat hours, and take precautions to protect themselves from dust.
