China's Shenzhen robots deliver goods via metro line in global first

emirates7 - A team of robots achieved a significant breakthrough by using the metro to transport goods to shops located at metro stations during a trial at Wanxia Station on Shenzhen Metro Line 2, according to China Daily on Monday.

This cutting-edge robot delivery system is designed to improve the supply of goods to underground shops, which have traditionally relied on human labor to carry items from trucks parked above ground. Such deliveries are often complicated by limited parking availability near metro stations and clashes with the busy morning rush hour.

Unlike human deliveries, the robots can operate within the metro system during off-peak times, boosting delivery efficiency and lowering costs for shop owners.

These metro delivery robots feature a sophisticated AI dispatch system, panoramic lidar technology, and innovative chassis designs.
