emirates7 - Nvidia announced on Monday that it will restart sales of its H20 artificial intelligence chip in China and has launched a new version designed to comply with U.S. regulatory requirements for the Chinese market.
The company stated that it is currently submitting applications to the U.S. government for permission to resume sales of the H20 GPU and anticipates receiving the necessary licenses soon.
"With assurances from the U.S. government that the licences will be approved, Nvidia expects to begin deliveries in the near future," the company said.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is set to hold a press conference in Beijing on Wednesday during a supply chain expo. This marks his second visit to China this year, following an April trip where he emphasized China's strategic importance to Nvidia.
