emirates7 - China's consumer price index (CPI), a key indicator of inflation, rose by 0.1% in June compared to the same month last year, according to data released Wednesday by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
In urban areas, the CPI recorded a 0.1% year-on-year increase, while rural areas saw a 0.2% decrease. On a monthly basis, the CPI edged down 0.1% in June, China Daily reported.
For the first half of 2025, the CPI saw a slight decline of 0.1% compared to the same period in 2024, the bureau noted.
The data also showed that China's producer price index (PPI), which reflects prices at the factory gate, fell by 3.6% year-on-year in June. Compared to May, the PPI declined by 0.4% last month.
During the first six months of 2025, the PPI dropped 2.8% year-on-year, according to official figures.
