UAE's Rashid Al Dhaheri shines with P2 Finish on Hungaroring Debut

emirates7 - Emirati racing star Rashid Al Dhaheri impressed once again over the weekend with a standout performance at the legendary Hungaroring circuit, finishing second and earning crucial points in the Formula Regional Championship standings.

The Hungaroring, situated just outside Budapest, is famed for its demanding, twisty layout and rich legacy in Formula racing. It requires precision, stamina, and a finely tuned car—making it a true test of driver and machine.

Despite it being his first time at the iconic track, Al Dhaheri quickly found his rhythm. From the very first test session on Thursday, the young Emirati demonstrated sharp adaptability and a fast learning curve, immediately posting competitive times.

Throughout Thursday and Friday’s collective test sessions, Rashid and his PREMA Racing team worked diligently to fine-tune the car’s setup. Their efforts paid off, with noticeable gains in performance as the weekend progressed.

On Saturday, Al Dhaheri qualified third and went on to finish fourth in Race 1, navigating the intense summer heat with composure and scoring important points for both his personal tally and his team’s championship campaign.

Sunday brought even greater success. After securing P2 in qualifying, Rashid delivered a smooth and confident drive in Race 2 to claim second place, adding a valuable podium finish and more points toward the constructors’ standings.

Reflecting on the weekend, Al Dhaheri said, “Hungary was amazing. I’m leaving with strong points and great momentum. Big thanks to my team for all their hard work, and to everyone who supports me. It was my first time racing here, and I enjoyed every moment.”

This latest podium is another milestone in Al Dhaheri’s rising career, reinforcing his transition from international karting champion to one of the brightest young talents in European motorsport. His skill under pressure, rapid adaptability, and strong teamwork continue to set him apart.

The championship now moves to France, where the next round will be held at Circuit Paul Ricard in two weeks—an opportunity for Rashid to carry forward his strong form.
