Indonesia volcano spews 18-kilometre ash tower

emirates7 - A volcano in eastern Indonesia erupted on Monday, sending a massive ash plume 18 kilometers into the atmosphere, according to authorities.

Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki, a 1,584-meter-tall volcano with twin peaks situated on the popular tourist island of Flores, erupted at 11:05 a.m. local time (03:05 GMT), the country's volcanology agency announced in a statement.

So far, there have been no reports of damage or injuries.
