US President signs annual budget law

emirates7 - U.S. President Donald Trump has enacted the annual budget law after it narrowly passed in the House of Representatives by a vote of 218 to 214, coinciding with the 249th anniversary of American Independence.

The legislation boosts military expenditures, extends tax reductions amounting to $4.5 trillion, and allocates resources for the removal of undocumented immigrants.

However, it also introduces significant cuts to the federal food assistance program and imposes restrictions on Medicaid, the health insurance program for low-income Americans. Projections indicate that approximately 17 million people could lose their health coverage due to these changes.

President Trump hailed the bill as a significant accomplishment.
