President of Ecuador meets Envoy of UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs

emirates7 - Daniel Noboa, President of the Republic of Ecuador, met with Omar Sultan Al Olama, the UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, who also serves as the Foreign Minister’s envoy to Ecuador, to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and exploring new areas of collaboration between the two nations.

The meeting was part of an official visit to Ecuador by a high-level UAE delegation led by Al Olama. The delegation included prominent representatives from both government entities and leading private sector companies in the UAE.

Throughout the visit, the delegation engaged in multiple discussions with Ecuadorian ministers, senior officials, entrepreneurs, and investors. These engagements aimed to deepen the partnership between the two countries and promote strategic cooperation across various sectors.

A key highlight of the visit was the launch of the inaugural UAE–Ecuador Economic and Business Forum. This platform brought together government representatives and leaders from the economic, investment, and technology sectors to explore potential collaborations, investment opportunities, and joint ventures of mutual benefit.

Additionally, the UAE and Ecuador announced the formation of the UAE–Ecuador Parliamentary Friendship Group to further strengthen legislative and diplomatic collaboration.

Omar Al Olama: Advancing Inclusive Global Development

Al Olama emphasized that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and guided by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, continues to prioritize building strong international partnerships. He also noted the close oversight of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in advancing diplomatic efforts.

He stated that the UAE places significant importance on fostering ties with South American countries, recognizing the value of cooperation in achieving inclusive growth, empowering communities, and creating a better future for coming generations.

“This visit to Ecuador, and the meeting with President Noboa and other senior officials, builds upon five decades of strong and strategic relations,” said Al Olama. “It reflects a shared commitment to expanding our partnership, aligning national priorities, and creating value for both nations.”

Al Olama also participated in working groups hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, addressing key topics such as human capital, food security, energy, and national development. He met with entrepreneurs and tech professionals and attended a session with the Ecuadorian Business Committee. In addition, he visited national projects in energy and agriculture and engaged with youth leaders at the Multiple Institutes Center to learn about their initiatives.
