As reported by China Economic Net, the event will revolve around the theme “Building a Digitally Friendly City,” exploring how digital technologies are shaping urban development.
Over 300 international participants from more than 50 countries are expected to attend, along with key global organizations such as the World Trade Organization, BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, and the China-Central Asia Mechanism.
For the first time, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) will join as a co-organizer, highlighting the conference’s goal of creating a new platform for international digital cooperation.
Alongside the main sessions, the conference will host 46 specialized forums covering rapidly advancing sectors like AI integration, digital security, and digital healthcare.
The digital economy continues to play a vital role in enhancing global competitiveness. In the first quarter of 2025, Beijing’s digital economy posted an 8.3% year-on-year growth in added value, with core sectors expanding by 9.7%. Between January and May, the Beijing International Big Data Exchange launched 152 new premium data products, with on-site transaction volume exceeding 44 million yuan—a 37.63% increase compared to the same period last year.
