UAE evacuates critically injured Palestinian child from Gaza for treatment

emirates7 - As part of the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian initiative, Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, a critically injured Palestinian child from Gaza has been airlifted to the UAE for advanced medical care after suffering extensive second- and third-degree burns on multiple parts of his body.

Three-year-old Hatim Awad sustained the injuries during an airstrike that devastated his Gaza neighborhood, tragically killing his entire family. Now facing both physical and emotional trauma, Hatim’s story echoes the broader suffering endured by thousands of children in the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Abdulqader Almessabi, Chief Medical Officer at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, confirmed that the child was admitted to the facility on 12 June 2025 through the UAE’s humanitarian mission. A comprehensive treatment plan was immediately initiated, and the child has shown notable progress since receiving care.

The emergency evacuation highlights the UAE’s ongoing commitment to easing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, prioritizing medical and relief aid for the most vulnerable groups—especially children and patients in critical condition.

The operation was carefully coordinated with relevant authorities to ensure the child’s safe transfer and timely arrival at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, where he is receiving specialized treatment.

This act of compassion is part of the UAE’s broader pledge to support the Palestinian people, particularly children, in times of conflict and disaster.
