Fog alert out in parts of Abu Dhabi

emirates7 - *UAE residents are advised to drive cautiously this Thursday morning due to foggy conditions.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) reported fog and mist in various areas, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah.

Drivers commuting along roads connecting Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain should remain vigilant. The NCM has issued red and yellow alerts warning of reduced visibility in certain regions, with dense fog expected to persist until 9 AM.

Abu Dhabi Police, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), urged motorists to drive carefully and pay attention to variable speed limits displayed on electronic boards due to the low visibility.

The overall weather today will be mostly clear, though some cloud development is expected—particularly in the eastern areas—possibly resulting in convective weather during the afternoon. Temperatures in the interior regions will soar between 43°C and 47°C, while coastal and island areas can expect highs of 37°C to 43°C. Mountainous regions will see temperatures between 35°C and 40°C.

Humidity levels are forecast to increase tonight and into Friday morning, with chances of fog or mist returning in some coastal and inland areas.

Winds will be generally light to moderate, ranging from 10 to 25 km/h and occasionally strengthening from the west, potentially stirring dust and sand.

Sea conditions will be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf, while the Oman Sea is expected to remain calm.
